All of the Smirnoff Ten were very excited about China…
It’s a completely a different world!!!!
It’s pretty cold but still beautiful and interesting… we got a guided tour the fist day, Michael our guide took us to see a nice market and beautiful gardens, where we tried lots of street food, pretty strange food but I tried everything!
Afterwards we went to dinner to a very nice restaurant we tried the most part the menu… was crazy! The interesting thing in the Chinese restaurants is that you can order everything to share… I like that!
After dinner we took a long walk thro ugh ‘The Bund’ which is full of stores, sales people and the beautiful river; everything is so colourful and shiny!
Luiza and I got some skate shoes… hahahah and we played some arcade games with these teddy friends inside - Akona and I won a pair of teddy bears!
We went to see a French punk band in a place called ‘4 live’ and after that, we went to the Shelter (which long time ago was a bomb shelter). It was a pretty nice place with a dark tunnel as an entrance and lots of different people enjoying themselves there - French people mainly. You can find a different kind of music there every night, from rap and hip-hop, to techno, jazz and MC performers.
The weather has been very been cold!
We had a party in a city called Chengdu, so on Wednesday we caught a flight there and when we got there, there were some Smirnoff people already waiting for us with big signs saying ‘SMIRNOFF TEN!
Chengdu is awesome, the people are very warm and the streets are beautiful. We went to a Sichuan restaurant (which is like Chengdu’s traditional food) where we ate a lot of different and spicy food. After that we saw a performance of a Chinese magician. Then the people from Chengdu organized a noodle race between 5 of us, and I won! Wu wu wu!
That same night we went to a nice bar called A+. The music was great and the place was killer, full of acrylic tables with different coloured lights, they had Smirnoff and they put like origami with fruits so you could feel free to mix your drinks and your fruits! Pretty original way of drinking…
Our second night in Chengdu, we went to our first official Smirnoff Party in China; the dress code was white & silver.
The party was in this exhibition, the place was very industrial, but the venue was beautiful, all in white and silver. There was a transformer of the double-headed Smirnoff eagle performing. The line-up was DJ Fitalic (who has been working with DJ’s like John Digweed and Kasey Taylor), so I can tell that the music was super killer, the drinks consisted of thing like Cosmo martinis, Smirnoff Mule drinks as well as plenty of water.
The VIP pass was a pretty original bling-bling necklace with an ‘I LOVE SMIRNOFF’ legend on it.
Chengdu is a beautiful place to visit if you come to China.

Melbourne
WOW
For New Years Eve (time flies), we went to see Groove Armada playing on Bondi Beach, the production of the event was huge, Smirnoff had a lot of bars and the place was like a theme park but in front of the beach.
Groove Armada played like 1hr 30 mins and after they played a DJ set, the people were crazy - jumping and singing and of course we were all sweaty hahaha because we didn’t stop dancing.
After that we went back to our flat…we had a flight to take for Melbourne at 9am on 1st January… After a big chaos in the airport finally we get to Melbourne…
Melbourne, what a lovely city, so different from Sydney, the people here are more relaxed, so we went to a super huge summer day festival sponsored by Smirnoff, they had like a big Igloo with a DJ stage, It was about 35c so it was so hot, so the idea of the igloo was SUPER KILLER! It had a bar and a lot of space to dance!
When we got there, the Australian media was already waiting for us, so we gave a few interviews.
The surprise on that day was Sister Bliss (Faithless girl) playing at “our” Smirnoff stand, I think that of all the stands of the party, ours was one of the most crowded, Smirnoff is a popular brand here in Australia. We spent all day there, in a big local park, where there must have been 30,000 people.
The people are friendly here in Melbourne, and the life seems relaxed. There’s a lot of street art everywhere and lots of vintage and original bars, open air and indoor, but the city is quite interesting, it’s full of beautiful parks. They are everywhere and you can just go and chill out for a while…after our NYE celebration that was just what I was looking for!

Sydney Australia
Finally I’m in Sydney, this is a very nice and exciting city.
On my first night here, I went out to a place just around the corner of our flats, called the Wise Monkeys - a nice place to have a drink and go back to the 90’s (lol).
Ania had been feeling ill, and now I am… so the first week I have been in bed all day drinking tea!
We had a task in Sydney, which was to throw a party, but also Smirnoff in Sydney is a popular brand so we have been working with the media here. We went to a very nice café lounge and had an interview with a local paper, a photo shoot session and a nice chat about the Smirnoff Experience.
After that we were starvingggggg! So we decided to go to eat, Takashi suggested Korean food, so Steph, John, Takashi, Thai Ben and I went to a Korean restaurant. The food was unusual, new flavours in my mouth but I didn’t like it that much…I have to admit that.
We went to a local radio station; it was exciting, but quick. The next day we had one more photo shoot session here, I’m not used to it yet, but I think that I will.
Our days have been very amusing, we went to a bowling bar in the harbour of the city, where we spent a good time bowling, you can drink and eat in the place, they play nice music and there’s an outdoor bar too.
We visited a lot of different bars, but the Lotus Bar was one of my favourites because the decorations were beautiful and they have the best cocktails I ever tried before. In fact, they have won a lot of awards with their cocktails.
We went to an original place called the World Bar, which serves their drinks in teacups, and in the second floor they have art exhibitions.
So I have two weeks here in Sydney now, yesterday was our Smirnoff Ten Experience party, we decided to do a cocktail party, with artwork from each member of the team. Everybody was very excited about this idea. I think that I was the most excited with this, because I was in charge of setting up the place and I was like a fish in the water.
I met up with a Mexican friend, he was travelling to a festival of 6 days of folk music to Toowoomba, so we met for a few hours here, but I was happy to see a friendly face!
We went to the Opera house, I saw one guy who has been travelling around the world for 17 years, he was a didgeridoo player, and I made some footage of him because I really like his music.
For Christmas we had a very nice dinner, I cooked some pasta for my friends, and on the 26th we went to a killer day out party, crazy people, crazy music, crazy place… so we had a very wild day!
The music was quite different to the music that we are usually used to hearing, because this one was new mixes of the old electronic music from the 90’s.
The Australian people are really crazy; they just want to have fun. This city is too wild for me, but anyway I still like Sydney, somebody says that Melbourne is better,
Lets see what is waiting for us there, perhaps… Groove Armada are playing for NYE!
